So Much To Say

One week down, one to go. I've heard from Dave twice since he's been gone. Gosh, I miss him so much. I didn't think I'd be so lonely without him. I mean, a few days break is sometimes a good thing and I was ok at first, but now, as cliche as it sounds, the nights are so lonely. Once Zack's in bed, I'm used to sitting and talking to Dave and now there's nothing. Cassie & I have been hanging out a lot and watching movies, but last night she was babysitting - tonight she's at her boyfriend's. I AM enjoying some alone and down time. It's nice to not have to worry about keeping the house up hahaha

I burned my hand at work on Friday night - not bad and it hasn't blistered, so I'm lucky. That, on top of Zack's allergic reaction, has made for a fun week.

I'm hoping this coming up week will be less hectic. I'm only working two days, but I will probably pick up Saturday night or something. Ok, maybe I don't have THAT much to say.

We've got some tough decisions to make about Alex when he gets back from camp. He's just too small. I need to quit acting like it's ok now - I need to put my feelings aside about hormone treatment and do some research. We may need to do this - the doctor said we're running out of time. I need to do a separate post about Alex, I think. There's a lot to say.

I found an old friend from Charlotte on here last night - I'm DYING for him to add me so we can talk again. He's hands down one of the funniest guys I've ever known and I miss talking to him. So come on, Robot Johnson, get on the stick and add my ass!!!!

Hope everyone's having a great summer.

Doing a happy dance

*singing* I got my carpet, I got my carpet. Yay!! The new carpet is in on the stairs and in the hallway. What a huge difference it makes. So nice to get rid of that ugly brown 70s carpet.

I painted all the trim with a new coat of bright white. We're gonna run out to Home Depot tonight and get the paint and tape so we can get started on painting the foyer and the hallway. I'm so excited!!!!

Dave is finally in Guatemala and I say finally not because it was a long time coming, but because he missed his connecting flight to Guatemala, thanks to his flight from BWI to LAX being 3 hours late. Poor guy. But, they put him up for a night in LA and got him on the next flight to Guatemala. He met up with his group 24 hours after he was supposed to :( Oh well, important thing is that he's safe and sound and where he's supposed to be.

If you guys could please give him an extra thought to stay safe, we'd all appreciate it.

Oh COME ON!!!!!

Dave says a few minutes ago, "Does it feel hot in here?" I stop to think, um, yes, it does! So he goes to check the thermostat - 79 degrees. It's set to 74 degrees. Sigh.

We check the unit downstairs, sounds like it's running fine. The alert light is not on. We come upstairs and start checking the vents - not as much output as usual. Upstairs in the bedrooms, pretty much nothing is coming out.

This is fucking ridiculous. We JUST BOUGHT THIS FUCKING UNIT LESS THAN TWO MONTHS AGO. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

This is incredibly frustrating. Also, on the "give me a break" front - I called Alex's doctor to get his prescription refilled before he goes to camp on Sunday. Guess what? They are closed all week and won't be back in the office until Monday. So WTF? I have to send Alex to camp an hour away with not enough medication and then drive another two hours to take him the rest later next week? My head's going to explode, seriously.

Why is all of this happening now? Why can't this happen in two weeks when Dave's home and can take care of some of this stuff?

I'm so pissed off right now - I want to hit something!!!!!!

Preparing...

Dave leaves in 3 days for Guatemala. I can't believe it's finally here. He's very excited and nervous. I'm excited for him - this is going to be a lifechanging experience for him, I think. I'm nervous about being away from him for 2 weeks. We've never been apart for this long in 11 years.

Alex will be going to camp on Sunday to alleviate my stress while Dave's gone. I wanted to take Cassie & Zack on a short road trip, but I'm not sure if that's going to work out with my work schedule. I know I will have 3 days off in a row, so maybe we can go someplace closer than what I was originally planning. I'm not sure where yet. We have to be careful with money since Dave's not getting full pay while he's gone, but our bills will still be the same.

Nothing out of the ordinary is happening lately, which is good. My weight loss is going great. I actually need to get new pants for work. Yay!!!
