My New Life

I'm in week two of not working during the day. Words cannot express how much I'm loving this. My schedule has been something like this:

Wake up in time to make sure Alex is out of the door for school (he gets up with his alarm, and until this morning, has been very responsible about taking his meds, eating breakfast, and getting ready for school. Zack's always up by then and has usually been spending time in bed with me snuggling and trying to get me to wake up.

Dave gets up with us and piddles around the house, making coffee and doing some work on his laptop. I pick what room I want to work on and start cleaning. I do various other chores around the house while Zack plays with Play-Doh or something to that effect.

Dave leaves for work and if there is some age-appropriate library program, Zack and I head out to that. Or, we go for a little visit to Ann's house to play. Then we come home and I either work on some more chores if I'm up for it, or I sit on my ass and play video games. Damn, I love my life :)

I've been working more at the restaurant at night, but that seems to be working out just fine. This week I'm busy because I am working today, Wed & Fri and then on Thursday is the much-anticipated Coldplay concert. I'm so friggin' excited!!!

One thing I have still not been doing is exercising. I need to work that into my daily routine, but I can't figure out what time of day to do it. I'm more apt to clean first thing in thhe morning when I have the energy, so I definitely want to take advantage of that. I need to find some type of daytime series that interests me and run during that time.

We've paid for our Disney trip and have everything in place. I'm very excited!! We will be gone for a whole week. I just hope that the crowds aren't too bad.

The end is near

Tomorrow is my last day at the lawfirm. It's a tad bittersweet, but honestly, it's mostly sweet. My stress levels are going down down like the Fall Out Boy song. The new girl is coming in tomorrow to be trained a little before I go.

I can't believe I'm actually leaving. 6 years is a long time to work somewhere.

I cleaned up this week. Roughly $800 for 4 days of work - god love Valentine's Day, it's my favorite day of the year now hahaha.

I'm planning a trip to Chicago hopefully some time this summer and hopefully all by my lonesome! That would be awesome. Of course, I think I might prefer to stay at the cabin for a few days like David did last month. Who knows? For now, I'm going to focus on the house and my family and then I'll take a break at some time.

Thoughs jumping from subject to subject - I finally feel respected at work. I get better shifts now, better tables and the owner is noticing. Makes me feel good.

What doesn't make me feel good? I haven't been exercising. I will start that back up on Sunday, now that I'll be down to one job. It will be so nice to be able to exercise in the mornings!!!

Hope everyone out there in cyberland is doing well.

A Hell of a Week

I'm typing this update with a broken finger. How did this happen, you must be wondering. Why, playing football of course. My left ring finger. I caught a ball wrong. To add insult to injury, or rather, injury to injury, I'm bruised up like nobody's business. Both of my upper arms and my left lower arm is akin to a heroin addict at this point, with track marks of bruises. But boy, did I have a fantastic time!!!

Every year, The Melting Pot cloes for Super Bowl Sunday, all of the area restaurants meet up in Virginia and we play flag football in the Fondue Bowl. Our restaurant did not do well last year - didn't make it past the first round. This year though, oh yeah, we made it to the final game. We lost by one point, but we probably had more fun than anyone. Best of all, the boys had a great time and Cassie & Dave weren't too bored. I loved every minute of it. I may change my tune tomorrow when I'm stiff and sore, but for now, I'm happy.

Now, the breaking of one digit does not a bad week make. But let's say we add that on to being woken up from a deep sleep early Thurs morning with stomach pains. Said pains go away, however, they return with a vengeance on Friday morning. So much so that I ended up in the ER. Even worse - no diagnosis. They think perhaps it's an inflammation of the lining of my stomach caused by stress.

Yes, I'm under a large amount of stress right now. No, I don't want to talk about it. Yes, Dave & I are fine. No, no one is dying. Hopefully, this will pass soon.

I'm tired. My last day at the firm is the 17th. It can't come quickly enough, seriously. I have to work 4 nights this week at the restaurant because Mark told me my last day was going to be last Friday, but my replacement flaked out, so I offered to stay a few more weeks. There's some stress right there, but it will be over soon.

I need to stop typing now and rest my finger. It's actually kinda funny to me that this happened. Why not, ya know?
